Baking soda might just top the charts for the most versatile beauty ingredient. It can do so much more than neutralize indigestion or help leaven that baking recipe.
One of the most common uses for baking soda is in the bath. Whether it’s to soften feet after a long day or a relaxing baking soda bath soak, baking soda is #1. Adding baking soda to your bath can reduce irritation and itching, and also provide detoxifying benefits. The bath soak below can be enjoyed twice weekly.
Baking Soda Bath Soak
- ½ cup baking soda
- ½ cup Epsom salt
- 10 drops essential oil(favorites for bath time: lavender, clary sage, ylang ylang)
Mix the baking soda and Epsom salt together in a bowl and add the essential oils. The oils will be absorbed into the baking soda and salt, as opposed to sitting on top of the water in your bath.
Dry brush your skin before bath, vigorously brushing in upward motions to prepare skin. Pour the baking soda mixture in your bath while running warm water and enjoy a nice soak!
