DIY Skin Care: Honey Spice Face Mask

Liz Marie Galvan, from Liz Marie Blog, offers this simple face mask made from three simple  ingredients. The honey moisturizes and cleanses skin gently.  Honey is naturally antibacterial, so it’s great for acne treatment and prevention. Full of antioxidants, it is great for slowing down aging. It is extremely moisturizing and soothing, so it helps create a glow. The cinnamon fights breakouts with its antiseptic properties.  Cinnamon helps get rid of acne and pimples on the face and body. This is done by drying the skin and bringing blood and oxygen to the outer skin surface. The nutmeg sloughs off dead skin cells to reduce blackheads and even out skin tone. The stimulating properties wake up dead skin cells and help those no-so-fine lines around your mouth fade. Nutmeg is known to have curative properties that heal scars caused by everything from acne to sun spots. … Nutmeg can also help out with dry skin, because it’s extremely moisturizing and exfoliation. You can apply once a week.

• 2 tablespoons honey
• 1 teaspoon nutmeg
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon

1. Pour honey into bowl, then add nutmeg and cinnamon. Stir to combine.

2. Apply mask to face, being careful to avoid the eye area.

3. Let sit 20 minutes before rinsing with warm water. Follow with a moisturizer.
