What makes this milk golden?
The magic ingredient in this tea is turmeric. It is a spice that has been used in cooking, medicines and religious ceremonies for thousands of years.
Turmeric has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. The spice has chemical compounds called curcuminoids. Curcumin found in turmeric is said to help liver functions, reduce bad cholesterol, promote healthy cell growth and with its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties it has even been said it will help fight cold infections and reduce symptoms.
Along with the health benefits of the turmeric, this golden milk calls for ginger, cinnamon and a pinch of black pepper. The ginger also aids in digestive health and can reduce upset stomachs. Cinnamon is a spice that is used often to fight infections, promote heart health as well as having its own anti-inflammatory properties. The black pepper in this drink helps to aid the body in absorbing all these powerhouse nutrients. You can start to see why this tea can be a great addition to your daily routine.
